Job Summary

As a Machine Learning Engineer,   foundational knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to develop intelligent solutions for real-world agricultural challenges for farmer.chat at Digital Green, you will have the opportunity to apply cutting-edge machine learning techniques to empower small-holder farmers with intelligent conversational bots. Your primary focus will be managing and building robust pipelines to support end-to-end machine learning workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficiency and scalability of data processing, model training, and deployment pipelines. This role emphasizes contributing to substantive projects that enhance the pace and quality of AI-driven solutions, aligning with team-level objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to process multi-modal agricultural datasets (text, voice, images).
• Build automated pipelines for preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Assist in creating scalable deployment pipelines that integrate ML models into production systems.
• Work on ensuring continuous delivery and monitoring of ML models through CI/CD frameworks.
• Contribute to optimizing pipeline performance, reducing latency, and ensuring reliable data flow.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data processing and deployment pipelines, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Support senior engineers in accomplishing team objectives by delivering on assigned pipeline-related tasks. 
• Document processes and share knowledge to build team capabilities in pipeline management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with foundational knowledge of machine learning and software engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience in building and managing data/ML pipelines or related roles.
• Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow, MLflow, or similar pipeline orchestration frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python with experience in libraries like pandas, NumPy, and PyTorch/TensorFlow.
• Good understanding of NLP techniques such as language modeling, text classification, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and machine translation to build and enhance ML solutions.
• Good understanding of ETL processes, data quality assurance, and pipeline optimization.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services like AWS or GCP.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Growth-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team setting
